BLOOD POSITIVE [SHORT] REVIEW

Dir. Alejandro Montoya Marin

Reviewer. Martyn Wakefield

Horror icons Scout Taylor Compton and Gabrielle Stone star as sisters who go in search of vengeance but as the saying goes, if you seek revenge, dig two graves.

For a film that just reaches the 15 minute mark, it packs a lot of punch. Alejandro Montoya Marin delivers a slice of violent horror that anchors itself with an emotional drive for revenge.

All set on one fateful night there's more whirlwind dramatics than a re-watch of TWISTER but all given gravitas thanks to its impeccable cast. At just 15 minutes long this could have been a throwaway project but the cast really deliver on a scene that could rival most tense thrillers out there with ease.

With lighting and camera work that will make a lot of producers notice Marin as a potential new face of horror. Usually befitted with lighter movies, there's something under the surface of this new director that winks at a darker side ready to be unleashed.

Taymour Ghazi and Wendy Hains deserve a full fledged back story, one only teased at alongside the lead women's motives which give way for some densely lit violence that would make Jigsaw flinch.
